My father, James Raymond Mister, started his business, Mr. Woodsmith, in 1975 making 2025 our 50th year. He taught me to "either do it right or don't do it at all". When I was 15 years old, I started work on the drill press. After hours at the press drilling mallets, I began to complain of my arm being tired. So what did my father do? He installed a foot pedal to solve my problem and work continued. 

My fathers no-nonsense approach to business is the foundation upon which our company is built. Mr. Woodsmith's started in Crisfield, Maryland, which, at the time, was known as the seafood capital of the world. What began in the basement of our family home has now grown to serve a multitude of seafood businesses and restaurants along the East Coast. Our products are hand-made to the highest standard. Not a single mallet reaches the hands of a client without being double, sometimes triple checked. It is that level of dedication and passion that allows us to guarantee your satisfaction with our products.
